Make sure you grab the FREE Invictus Tarot TIY (Trust in Yourself!) Tarot workbook, if you haven't already! As a note, I am using the OG Rider-Waite deck for this series of posts, but you absolutely don't have to! Find the deck or decks that speak to you most, the cards you connect to most will always be better for your readings and sharpening your intuitive skills. This is just an example and reference for you to trust in yourself!

The Tower

The Tower looms over but its foundation on shaky ground and tall pretensions put it at risk for terrible destruction. Sometimes putting all of one's eggs in a single basket can only delay certain demise. But with every death opens a path for a new beginning.

Keywords: chaos, upheaval, disaster, revolution, rebuilding

General Meaning: HUGE change is coming so brace yourself for impact!!

Personal Interpretation: Get ready to rumble... the earth is shaking and quaking, and this Tower is about to come crumbling down. Will you let it remain in ruins or rebuild something better?

Reversed Meaning: avoiding or delaying necessary change

Affirmation: "I will adapt. I will evolve. I will become stronger than ever."

Symbolism: lightning, tower, fire, fall of two figures, smoke and fog, unstable foundation

Imagery Notes: lightning - divine stroke of intervention; tower - false sense of stability, risk of rigidness in old ways; fire - a power that can both destroy and cleanse; fall of two figures - no control, submission of the conscious and unconscious; smoke and fog - uncertainty and inability to see a clear future at this point in time; unstable foundation - clues that it was just a matter of time before everything would fall apart

People: Wiccan, Sauron, revolutionaries

Places: plate boundaries, volcanoes, Babylonia, Mordor

Media:

Personal Insights & Other Notes: Like the Death card, The Tower is monumental and magnificent in its representation of renewal and change. Don't fight it, welcome it, and the rewards from rebuilding will make you stronger than ever before.
