Find the deck or decks that speak to you most, the cards you connect to most will always be better for your readings and sharpening your intuitive skills. This is just an example and reference for you to trust in yourself!

The Hermit

Too caught up in the daily grind of a chaotic world, The Hermit retreats to contemplate their self-worth and meaning, contemplate on their direction and values, and recenter their goals as needed. Worry not, once these things are realigned, The Hermit returns to the world to pick up where the journey left off.

Keywords: introspection, reflection, retreat, withdrawal, solitude

General Meaning: Might be a good time to take a step back, tune out the noise, and listen to your own thoughts to figure out the next steps

Personal Interpretation: Alone doesn't necessarily mean lonely! Your thoughts are always with you, make sure they're your allies and not your enemies!

Reversed Meaning: paranoia, paralysis, anti-social tendencies, loneliness

Affirmation: "The greatest truths I need to know are already within me.

Symbolism: lamp, staff, inward gaze, plain robes, mountaintop

Imagery Notes: lamp - houses not just light but a star to shine the path before the Hermit and reveal all truths; staff - enables the Hermit to stay balanced as they embark on this inward journey; inward gaze - the Hermit is all about introspection and does not need to distract themself with the outward and external; plain robes - also symbolic of not needing to worry about outward appearances, free from worldly and material attachments and caring about what others think; mountaintop - the Hermit's journey away from the world beneath them and closer to divinity and the stars above

People: yogis and yoginis, gurus, self-help/self-improvement motivational speakers

Places: caves, mountain apexes, closets, a cottage all to yourself in the woods

Personal Insights & Other Notes: The Hermit signals to us that we either need to take a step back, reduce the clutter and noise around us, and learn to trust in ourselves again. On the other hand, the appearance of the Hermit, especially if reversed, could mean that we've gone too far off the deep end and we actually need to get back to the world to put our introspections into practice.
